Our Summer Garden

We have never attempted a garden before. My husband has been begging me to rip out the little lawn we had in our backyard and to put in a garden. For over 5 years I have told him no, this Summer I caved in and let him since our daughter never goes out there and plays on the grass anyways.

My husband planted this garden on May 29, 2010 and added a few more seeds the following weekend. He planted: tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, cilantro, peas, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, zucchini squash, summer squash, onions, peppers.

We had this special running for the Month of June on a few message boards and it ended up being such a huge hit I am extended this special for the month of July. Please note that we were going to be closed for the month of July but a few things came up and we will not be able to close down like we had wished. The shipping times for July might be a little longer than normal, we have a few projects we will be working on through out the month so my husband will not be accessible as he normally is to go out and stamp several times a week. If you need something in a "RUSH" please choose the Rush option on the Hand Stamped Items for an additional $15.00 (only have to choose $15.00 for the first item the rest will be rushed too).

The special we had running for June was for a Childrens Hand Stamped Necklace. These necklaces are normally priced at $39.50 with a 20% off price of $32.20 on my site. We are now offering this necklace for $24.00 through the end of July as a "Birthday Special". You can add their birthstone on there for $2.00. If you daughter is over 6-7 I would choose the 16" chain and if they are younger then I would choose the 14" chain. A 4-5 year old can wear the 16" chain to it will be a little longer.

Our NEW Hand Stamped Font

We received a new font in last week. This is a upper and lower case font set. All the other fonts we have are either upper or lower case. We did do some playing around with it and found the the upper case of this new fonts does go with our font #2 and font #4 lower case set too. This is very exciting for us to be able to finally offer a set that you can get the first letter of the name in a capital with our lower case fonts.

I will post some examples of the new fonts in the next few days. We were so busy for Mother's Day and after I have not had time to edite any of my pictures yet.

Infant Loss Necklaces

I was contacted by a lady from a message board that was for Infant Losses. She wanted to know if I made any necklaces that she and some of the ladies from her message board could purchase. I made up one for her and a few other ladies from her board. After a few of the ladies purchased necklaces I decided to add a section for these necklaces to my website.

My husband and I do feel honored to be able to make these necklaces for these ladies that have lost a child. My husband told me he gets tears in his eyes when he is out stamping these necklace. I too get tears working on these necklaces. We do hope that these necklaces will bring some type of comfort to these ladies.

Here is another one of our new necklaces. I really wanted to it say Familes are Together Forever but I would have had to make it with a larger silver disc. We can make one that says this it might be a little different. I really like the way this one turned out.

In Memory Of Bracelet

Ranger Cookies

Sorry I have been slacking on my Friday Recipes. This is one of my favorite cookie recipes besides chocolate chip cookies, my favorite:

Ranger Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups corn flakes
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup flaked coconut
1 bag of butterscotch baking chips

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add corn flakes and oatmeal to dry ingredients and mix. Mix creamed mixture and dry ingredients together. Stir in coconut and chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 6-7 dozen cookies.

I made this bracelet for my niece to give to her mom for Mothers Day.

This Bracelet has a mixture of Sterling Silver Beads & Letters & 6mm Jet Swarovski Crystals & Blings. The Bracelet is $69.50 the Dangle is $3.00, Heart Charm is $3.50 and the earrings are $19.50.

Mary's Honey Chicken

This recipe is so good. We make it a lot for our Sunday dinners after church.

Mary's Honey Chicken
4-6 Chicken Breasts (I use tenderloins or cut 3 breasts into 6)
1 Stick Margarine/Butter (1/2 cup)
1/2 Cup Honey
1 Tb. Mustard
1/2 tsp Lemon Pepper
1/2 tsp Salt (I usually use garlic salt)
1/2 tsp Seasoned Salt

Place chicken in baking dish. Melt margarine. Add remaining ingredients to margarine and mix well. Pour mixture over chicken. Bake uncovered 1 hour at 350, basting occasionally.

Another thing that is really good it to cook up some rice (we use white jasmine rice) and put the chicken on the bed of rice and scoop up some of the juices from the dish and put it over the chicken and rice.

JJ’s Chicken Tacos in the Slow Cooker

I think I will post a recipe every Friday.

This is one of our family's favorite chicken recipes. For those of you that hate mushrooms, I do to and you do not taste the mushroom soup in this recipe at all.

JJ’s Chicken Tacos in the Slow Cooker
4 chicken breasts
1 pckg. taco seasoning
1 can cream of mushroom soup (fat free)
1 c. salsa
1 can black beans (optional)
1/2 c. light sour cream

Place chicken in crock pot, sprinkle w/taco seasoning. Add soup & salsa on top. (I put the beans in last...) Cook on low for 6-8 hours (or I cooked it on high for 4 and it worked fine...) Stir in sour cream just before serving.

I usually serve it just on flour tortillas w/a little Mexican shredded cheese blend. I add salsa to mine.
